Chaukori Tourism

The bowl-shaped town of Chaukori in Uttarakhand is nestled within the Himalayas at a height of 2010masl. As a tourist destination, it offers breathtaking views – be it the lusciously green tea gardens, the majestic snow-capped peaks of Nanda Devi and Panchachuli, the peaceful sunrise and sunsets or the bejewelled night skies with the light of a million stars.

Chaukori is one of those places that can become a part of your yearly escapades to detox your mind and body, alienating metropolitan experiences. Imagine waking up to the Himalayan scenery every morning - out your window. With days of exploring the wilderness, bird watching and walks in the lush meadows or planning a day out, visiting the spiritual retreats that are the helm of the town, Chaukori lets you sit back and let its scenery and hospitality do the talking.

The advantage of escaping to this place, which gets its maximum influx from Kolkata and Delhi, is that business is not the throbbing core of everyone's existence. Life here is something you take as it comes to you - with a cup of tea every morning, watching snowcapped peaks and unadulterated natural bounty.

If you're daunted by travel sickness, Chaukori is an avoidable getaway.
