Tagore Theater

The Tagore Theatre was established in September 1962. It was built as a tribute to the Nobel laureate and great poet Rabindranath Tagore. The Tagore Theatre is the best and oldest auditorium in Chandigarh for the public. It is one of the renowned places in Chandigarh and holds different types of events throughout the year. The theatre is run by a foundation called "Tagore Theatre Society," which was also formed in 1962. At those times, several famous actors of Indian cinema were associated with the Tagore Theatre Society.

The theatre is situated in Sector 18 of Chandigarh, Punjab. It has several facilities which are necessary to hold any type of indoor event. Tagore theatre can easily hold 801 people at once along with a huge stage for theatrical performances. Other than that, it holds cultural programs, annual functions, company seminars, Comedy and Musical shows, and many more. 

It has a cuboid-like design with straight lines which is the iconic feature of the theatre. However, the theatre has undergone several renovations as well.
