The Alappuzha beach, also known as the Alleppey Beach, is famous for local getaways, its intrinsic beauty and a 150 years old pier which stretches into the sea. Within the distance of just 450 m from the main beach, Vijaya Park is a house of amusement specially meant for children. Equipped with all kind of rides, the park will keep the little ones occupied for hours. It also offers boating, cycling and toy train facilities. The opening timings for same are 10:00 AM - 6:30 PM. It charges INR 10 for a 10-minute ride. Other charges include Video permit: INR 25, Camera permit: INR 5. Alappuzha Lighthouse

300 m from the beach lies the oldest lighthouse of Kerela. The lighthouse was completed in the year 1862 under the rule of Rama Varma Maharaja of Travancore. This was one of the busiest ports of Kerala and served as an important trade centre. Today it stands still even after 150 years of its construction and serves as a fascinating attraction for its visitors. Interestingly, the lighthouse is still a manned station.

Best Time to Visit Alappuzha Beach

October to February is considered the ideal best time to visit Alappuzha Beach, as it is not very humid and there is little to almost no rainfall. November to February is a great time to visit the beach while on a honeymoon. The Alappuzha Beach festival is an annual event held during April, which hosts an array of events such as the famous Sand Art festival showcased by many sand artists from in and around Alappuzha.

How To Reach Alappuzha Beach

Taxis and auto rickshaws are easily available in Alleppey and hence you can easily reach the beach. KSRTC Bus Stand is the nearest bus stop, which is 4.5 km away from the beach. Tourists can reach Alappuzha by bus or local transportation.
