National Wine Centre of Australia, Adelaide Overview
A wine centre rather than a museum, on the edge of the Botanic Garden, holding what it says is the largest public tasting room in the world: several hundred Australian wines available by the glass through self-serve machines. The exhibition explaining how the wine is made is free; the tasting is not. Useful if you cannot get out to the regions.
The Wine Bar offers blind tastings and wine flights to increase your knowledge of wine. The bar also offers cheese and charcuterie boards and the best produce in South Australia. During the summer months, you can sit on the terrace overlooking the Botanical Gardens. You can also opt for a Wine Discovery Journey which takes you through the process of making wine and has state of the art interactive experiences.
