Conceptualised by UdaipurBlog in 2012, the Udaipur Lantern Festival is a unique concept of celebrating the festival of lights, where thousands of people gather together to celebrate Diwali at a commonplace with utmost delight and enthusiasm. Together they release thousands of lanterns in the sky, turning the night sky into a beautiful hue of gold. The festival also witnesses live performances by various famous artists, bustling bazaars, scrumptious food, incredible art collections and a plethora of fun activities.

Highlights of Udaipur Lantern FestivalMany fun games and activities keep you engrossed in the magical fest. In 2018, musical performances by Sufi band Swaarag began post 6:00 PM and mesmerised everyone with the soothing harmonies of classical instruments like Sitar, Tabla and Harmonium. Post the Sufi performance; the famed Bollywood Singer Papon enthralled the audience with his melodious voice. Finally, DJ Kavish made the people groove with his peppy collection of Bollywood, Punjabi, Retro and Commercial Pop songs.
The festival also housed various food stalls served a wide assortment of local and international cuisines.
Lighting the LanternsPost 10:00 PM, the festival concluded with the lighting of lanterns by all the guests and releasing them towards the sky, sending a message of a green and safe Diwali to the world.
