Detailed Itinerary

Day 1 Arrival in Kochi & Transfer to Munnar
  • Arrive at the Kochi airport and be transferred to Munnar.
  • On arrival at Munnar, check-in at the hotel.
  • In the afternoon, visit Rajamalai (Eravikulam National Park - open as per the directions by the forest authorities) & Tea Museum.
  • In the evening, a short visit to Munnar town. You can see the beautiful tea estates like a green paradise.
  • Overnight stay at Munnar.
  • After breakfast, proceed for sightseeing.
  • Visit Mattuppetty dam, Echo Point, Kundala Dam, Pothamedu Viewpoint, Blossom Park, etc.
  • Time for shopping.
  • Overnight stay at Munnar.
  • In the morning, after breakfast, check out from the hotel.
  • Drive to Thekkady. Thekkady is a world-famous wildlife sanctuary, and it is also called Periyar.
  • On arrival, check in at the hotel.
  • In the afternoon, proceed for a game viewing cruise on Periyar Lake. Here you will be able to see a large variety of wildlife, which include elephants, monkeys, deer, wild boar, etc.
  • In the evening you can take an Elephant ride at Periyar wildlife.
  • Spend the rest of the day at leisure.
  • Overnight stay at Thekkady.
  • After breakfast check out from the hotel and transfer to Alleppey.
  • Around 1200 hrs check in at the houseboat and start your cruise through the rich and splendid backwater.

What's Not Good: The agency could not arrange gondola tickets even for the first phase, though booked 1½ months in advance in Gulmarg.

It was an excellent trip comprising of everything a person can ask for. Excellent stays, heavenly food (we are vegetarians and were very concerned about food), mind blowing sceneries, a comfortable tr (Read More)ansport, all in a very affordable budget. The trip was very lovely and it was a great experience. Totally worth it. Thanks a lot to Journey Begins Travel and Tourism for organizing this. The organizers were really helpful and prompt with our concerns and queries. We missed out on few essential bookings due to lack of our knowledge and when we shared this, they went out of their way to arrange for the bookings and within few hours, we had our confirmation with us. This incident displayed their commitment towards travelers. Journey Begins really made our trip memorable. An advice to fellow travelers: Ask them for hidden gems and local transport for short distances. You would save a lot of money with their help.
