Nationals of the countries listed below can enter Taiwan without a visa. Taiwan does not offer a general visa on arrival: its Landing Visa is limited to holders of emergency or temporary passports from those same visa-exempt countries. Indian passport holders normally need a visitor visa, or the free online Travel Authorization Certificate if they qualify. Visa fees vary by nationality and by the number of entries, so check the current fee schedule with the Bureau of Consular Affairs before you apply.

Visa Policy for Indians

Indian passport holders normally need a visitor visa for Taiwan, applied for through the Taipei Economic and Cultural Center. Many Indian travellers instead qualify for the free online ROC Travel Authorization Certificate, which allows stays of up to 14 days per visit within a 90-day validity, provided they hold a valid visa or residence certificate from the USA, Canada, Japan, UK, an EU or Schengen state, Australia, New Zealand or South Korea. Countries that do not need a Visa for Taiwan

All European Union member states, Andorra, Australia, Canada, Chile, Iceland, Israel, Japan, Liechtenstein, Monaco, New Zealand, Norway, San Marino, South Korea, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, the United States and the Vatican City, for 90 days. Malaysia and Singapore, for 30 days. Thailand and Brunei, for 14 days. The list changes, so check the current one on the Bureau of Consular Affairs website before you travel.
