Pullumedu, Thekkady Overview
Pullumedu is a hill station in Thekkady, Kerala, set among dense forest and hills, near Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary. It is known for its flora and fauna and its views of the Western Ghats, and is home to several tribal communities with a rich cultural heritage. The name Pullumedu means 'green meadow' in Malayalam.

Best Time to Visit
The winter months of October to February are ideal for visiting Pullumedu and the weather conditions are pleasant for all outdoor activities. The monsoon season that lasts from June to September should be avoided as most trekking trails are closed due to heavy rainfall which makes it difficult to explore the place.
How to Reach
Pullumedu is easily accessible from Thekkady by road. You can avail of any form of transportation according to your convenience. It is located at a distance of 18.5km and takes about 36 minutes to travel. The shortest route is via the NH185 and Anavilasam-Marykulam road.
