Kbal Chhay Waterfall is located in Khan Prey Nup close to the downtown of Sihanoukville in Cambodia. Due to its beautiful location amidst dense mangrove forests, it is a popular place for locals who come on picnics as well as for tourists exploring Sihanoukville city. Travelers can plan a day trip to the waterfall to enjoy nature and hike around in the region.
Kbal Chhay was initially discovered in 1960 and later was developed into a reservoir. But this reservoir was abandoned during the Khmer Rouge period. In the late 1990s, Kbal Chhay was developed for tourism. This waterfall, which runs 14 meters high originates from three different valleys in the forest above.
