Ta Phin Village

Ta Phin Village, Sapa Overview

Located at an elevation of 1600m on the Lo Suay Tong hill slope, Ta Phin village is a serene ecotourism destination surrounded by mountains. The hamlet is characterized by lush green plantations of rice, paddy, hemp, indigo, and other indigenous crops. Walk through the crop terraces, witness artisans and craftsmen at work, or enjoy a medicinal bath. There is also an ancient, ruined monastery here.

Remember to visit Ta Phin Cave, a deep cavern within the mountains knitted with beautiful jade-colored stalactites. The main thing to do on a Ta Phin Village trip is to soak in the village’s rich culture and traditions that are upheld in everyday life. There are two ethnicities here, the Red Dao and the H’mong people. You can buy their art and local handmade products like intricate silver and brass trinkets, embroidered or brocade clothes and accessories, woven home decor items, etc. Some shops owned by Kinh people sell dried medicinal herbs and the local wine made of fermented apple and wine called Tao Meo. The homestays in Ta Phin Village offer relaxing baths infused with herbal remedies that have healing properties for rheumatism, arthritis, cough, cold, and overall fatigue.
