Established in 1822, Clinton Memorial Church is the oldest active black congregation in Newark. The Church was initially located in a building on Academy Street but later got shifted to a Victorian Gothic style building in Broadway. Clinton Memorial Church made history by electing the first female pastor in 1999. This Church holds a special Farmer’s Market on Saturday morning where one can find an array of fresh home produce and health screenings.
