A walking tour of the traditional villages of Marmaris is a popular activity amongst tourists. The tour begins at Bayir Village where you visit an old mosque, and the guides explain the different local customs and rituals. The next village is Turgut where lunch is served by the local people, along with their special black tea and apples.
There is a famous 2000-year-old tree under which you can taste traditional honey. Natural soaps, fresh fruit, honey and olive oil are popular items bought here. Once the village exploration is complete, the tour stops at Kizkumu for a swim and at Orhaniye Beach.
