When it comes to moving in and around the beach town, Machelipatnam offers many options. Bus is the cheapest option which is run by a private operator called "city bus". Auto rickshaws are another option to commute within the area. Although faster than bus, but the vehicle is devoid of any meter in which case the rates are set by the drivers only. Make sure to bargain to get a good deal. If you are travelling only short distance, manually pulled rickshaws are also there in the town, although a bit slow. The last option of commutation available in the Machelipatnam is taxi. The taxis are not metered but charge fixed prices plus the driver's commission. It is a bit expensive but the fastest and the most convenient option for tourists. Lastly try and avoid visiting the place during peak summers and monsoon as your trip might be spoilt due to the weather conditions.
