Golf Course, Gulmarg Overview
Gulmarg Golf Course, at an altitude of 8,700 feet, is one of the highest golf courses in the world and the longest in India. The British played here from 1911, though the course wasn't formally inaugurated until 2011. It doubles as a meadow with a variety of wildflowers, in full bloom from June to September.
It was designed by the legendary golfer and course designer, Peter Thomson, and has hosted several national and international golf tournaments. The course is open to both locals and tourists, and offers stunning views, a well-maintained course, and a range of facilities, including a club house and pro shop. Visitors are allowed to take their cars inside for a ride and enjoy a ride in one of the most beautiful golf courses in the world.
