Sothy's Pepper Farm History & Significance

Sothy's Pepper Farm is among top pepper farms in the region, practising organic farming using sustainable resources. Different versions of Kampot pepper including the renowned black pepper, red, green and white are cultivated without the use of any artificial fertilizers or insecticides in four large fields. The farm is also home to local fruits like durians, mangoes, jack fruit and rambutans. Sothy's pepper farm also utilizes wind and solar energy, making it one of the most famous farms to contribute to the preservation of local resources.

Free Pepper Tours are available to the visitors in English, Khmer, French, German, Japanese, Spanish, and Vietnamese languages. The tour takes you through the history and the process of organic pepper farming, along with a tasting of all the varieties.

There is a big shop selling peppers, souvenirs and local food. There is a small restaurant with limited options. It is best to carry some food and water if you intend to stay longer.

How To Reach Sothy's Pepper Farm

The pepper farm is about 17 km from Kep centre and takes about 45 minutes to reach. You can get there by a shared or private Tuk-Tuk costing about 15 USD for a round trip per person, or self-drive by renting a motorbike at 10 USD per day.
