Alankuda Beach , Kalpitiya Overview

Alankuda beach in Sri Lanka is known to be sandy heaven. It is a recently developed beach in Kalpitiya which is in the north of Sri Lanka. It is best known for whale and dolphin watching. Apart from this, there are other water sport activities which include sailing, windsurfing, canoeing, etc. After visiting here, you can go to nearby places like Wilpattu National Park, which is known to be home to one of the highest concentrations of leopards in the world.

There's also a very famous church of St. Anne here. The Portuguese traders built this church. It holds the largest Catholic festivals in the country, where more than 7,00,000 people come and offer their prayers. There is also a Hindu temple by the name Munnesweram Kovil, which is a temple for Lord Shiva. It is a must visit temple here.

All in all, it is a beautiful place to hang out with family members and friends. You can always enjoy a quiet time here, away from your hectic schedule and find peace of mind. Although you might face some issues like the beach not being clean as compared to other beaches in Kalpitiya, the sight is not worth missing.
