Giftun Islands, Hurghada Overview

Giftun Islands are among the most famous Egyptian sea islands located in the Northern Reserves of the Red Sea. There are two separate islands under Giftun Islands – Big Giftun Island and Small Giftun Island. Big Giftun Island is the more popular one among tourists. The trips to the island are usually six to eight hours long and cover most tourist marine activities like snorkelling, fishing, sunbathing, and diving.

The pristine white, sandy beaches and crystal-clear waters distinguish its beaches from other beaches. It has three major beaches with the best diving spots - Orange Beach, Paradise Beach, and Mahmya Beach. Small Giftun Island is known for its good snorkelling spots. The islands are surrounded by rich marine life, with almost 196 kinds of solid coral reefs. These coral reefs are home to nearly 800 species of fish. Some marine organisms even appear on the shores. It has a rich ecosystem as it is a natural habitat of seagulls, with huge flocks of dolphins, rare birds and turtles, and other marine life.
