How to Reach Dresden from India

Qatar Airways, Lufthansa, Aeroflot, Emirates, Jet Airways, Thai Airways all have operations from Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Bangalore to both DRS and LEJ. There are no direct flights though and ranges from one to two stops depending on place of departure.

How to reach Dresden by flight

Airport Dresden International, 9 km north of the city centre has flights arriving from continents across the world. A taxi ride will take you to the city in about 20 - 30 minutes. Alternatively the Leipzig Halle Airport is also used by several tourists. Although Dresden is over a 120 kms away, direct coaches, BerlinLinienBus GmbH (BLB) operate from here. The Elbe ferries are convenient ways to cross the river, to get to places within the boundaries of the city. You can choose to take a ferry ride just for the romantic experience, without necessarily having a destination to head to. Another popular way of exploring the city is by hiring bicycles. There are several cycle routes spanning the city, Elberadweg, being one of the important ones, along the coast of Elbe and far from road traffic.
