Qatar Airways, Lufthansa, Aeroflot, Emirates, Jet Airways, Thai Airways all have operations from Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Bangalore to both DRS and LEJ. There are no direct flights though and ranges from one to two stops depending on place of departure.
Airport Dresden International, 9 km north of the city centre has flights arriving from continents across the world. A taxi ride will take you to the city in about 20 - 30 minutes. Alternatively the Leipzig Halle Airport is also used by several tourists. Although Dresden is over a 120 kms away, direct coaches, BerlinLinienBus GmbH (BLB) operate from here. All major airlines like Aeroflot, German Wings, Air Berlin, Swiss Air, Lufthansa, Emirates all operate to and fro both these airports.
Dresden has three entry points by road. The A 4 approaches the city from the West (Cologne-Eisenach-Chemnitz), and the A 13 from the North (Rostock-Berlin), while the A 17 connects the city with Prague.¾Moreover, the federal highways B6, B97, B170, B172 and B173 connects Dresden to the transport network.
Dresden is an important railway junction within the ICE and EC/IC networks of the German Railways. There are services from all major German cities, all the EC/IC/ICE trains stopping here. Direct international connections are also there to and from Aarhus, Budapest, Prague, Vienna, Zurich and others.
Direct coaches connect other major cities in Germany to Dresden. Bayerische Strasse and Station Dresden-Neustadt are the halts for these buses.
