There are direct flights to Penang International Airport. If you are travelling from Kuala Lumpur to Penang Airport, there is a 45 minute direct flight.
Train Service is available from Kuala Lumpur to Butterworth. From Butterworth, you can take a ferry ride to George Town and enjoy the sea journey with bright blue skies and clear water offering you an incredible sight. From George Town, direct buses and taxis are available to reach Batu Ferringhi.
There are Car Rentals available all over the island and Penang Island is connected with bridges to the peninsula and so commutation is not a problem. Batu Ferringhi Road is the prime road and is a part of Federal Route 6 which connects the nearby places. Buses are also available to travel to and fro from the Island.
Rapid Transit buses are the ideal mode of transportation for exploring Batu Ferringhi. If you are here for a few days, you can get a 7-day Rapid Transit Bus Pass at a very reasonable rate. They also have an iOS app by the name Rapid Penang Mobile ICS for tracking the buses, their routes and their ETA to the bus stop.
Another prime transportation option is that of Hop-On and Hop-Off double-decker buses. These are well connected and primarily tourist buses. Taxis are also available for commuting, however, the charges are comparably higher than buses. You can also take Car Rentals and self-drive to various tourist spots.
