One theory goes that a lot of Jain temples were converted to hindu temples in the name of Balaji and their idols were covered so that they could not be seen, and lots of restrictions imposed, includi (Read More)ng photography. Also that only selected and very senior temple officials are allowed inside the rooms where the idols are kept. But then again, this could all be just conjecture.

The Badrinath Temple will be closed on 17th November around 3.35 PM. It opens again around April-May.
