Rainbow, Auckland Overview

Rainbow’s End is a Theme Park located in Manukau, Auckland. It extends up to 9.3 Hectares making it the biggest theme park in New Zealand. It opened in 1982 and has been expanding and running wonderfully for over 39 years. The place is home to lots of Water Rides and entertainment centres. Rangatira Limited owns Rainbow’s End. It is built for everyone from 2-year-old children to 50-year-old adults. The place features the Kidz Kingdom, the winner of the “ Top Family Entertainment Center of the World Award” in 2015. 

Rainbow’s End started from just 4 Rides in 1982, namely Bumper Boats, Mini-Golf, Can-Am Cars, Mirage Card and featured Video Games. Over the years, it has had many rides built, some of them taken down. It is a beautiful Theme Park located in the wonderful country of New Zealand. The place has 300 employees and has won many awards for having the best team in Theme Parks all over the World.

Rides at Rainbow's End

It will take you more than a day to fully view the theme park. For entertainment purpose, It currently features 20 Rides which are really fun and will make your day. One of the main attractions of the place is the Corkscrew roller coaster which can’t be found in any other Theme Park in New Zealand.

Stratosfear: The most fearful ride yet and is one of the four in the whole world.

Fearfall: It is an 18 storey drop ride. The ride will take you up in the sky and will then push you down at speeds of over 80 Km/h.

Invader: It is a Disk O’ Coaster which uses gravity to move across a 15-meter high and 80-meter W-shaped long track.

Power Surge: It is a thrill ride which can tilt on both its horizontal and vertical axis

Log Flume: The Log Flume has minor drops and significantly larger plunge at the end.

Dodgems: Dodgem Cars are cars having a 1950s theme.

Kidz Kingdom: Children below the age of 8  who are too young to enjoy the above-mentioned rides need not worry as Rainbow’s end has its own Kidz Kingdom with many rides for kids. The Kidz Kingdom was built in 2013. It features 10 amazing children rides. These are the Choco Express, Space Shuttles, Surf and Swing, Car Wash Carousel, Convoy, Jumping Star, Magic Bikes, Fortress of Fun, Comfy Land, Enzo’s Country Raceway, the Dixie Chickens and Tiny Tots. It is also the place for Kids Birthday Parties.

One of the most exciting parts of Rainbow’s end is the AA Driver’s town where children up to 12 years old can drive a mini Maruti Swift over 1200 sq m of area. It is built like a town and has two-way roads with traffic lights included. It also has a centre stage on which performances are made over weekends and special days.

A variety of cafes and restaurants are found within Rainbow's End Theme Park. Pause the fun and frolic to take a bite to recharge at the Calypso Cafe or the Hungry Miner or indulge in something sweet by getting ice-cream at the Ice-Cream Cafe. Several restaurants are available to dine just outside the vicinity of the park, near the Westfield Shopping Centre.

How To Reach Rainbow's End

If you are planning a trip to Rainbow’s End then it would be really easy to get to from the City Center via the Public train. The theme park is located just across the road from Westfield Shopping Centre.
Rainbow’s End is just 15 minutes away from Auckland Airport and it will take you about 20-30 minutes from Auckland CBD to reach the Theme Park.
