Gayatri Falls is a beautiful cascading waterfall over River Kadem in the Adilabad district of Telangana. Colloquially known as Gadidha Gundam or Mukti Gundam, the waterfalls are secretly tucked in between the deep woods of the Tarnam Khurd Village.

Popular for beautiful scenic views and panoramic vistas, the spot also offers moderate to challenging trekking opportunities and is best visited during monsoons. The lesser-known Gayatri waterfalls is usually visited with the Pochera and Kuntala Falls situated in close vicinity.

Best Time To Visit Gayatri Waterfalls

The best time to visit the beautiful Gayatri waterfalls is during peak monsoon. Apart from that, September and October are two favourable months.

Tips For Visiting Gayatri Waterfalls

1. This place takes 5kms to reach from Tarnam Khurd village. It is advisable to take a local from the village, as you will need someone to guide you through.
2. The land can be extremely slippery during the monsoon season, hence wearing comfortable and firm footwear is a must.
3. It is advisable to carry eatables and water while trekking to the Gayatri waterfalls, as there are no shops or food joints on the way.
4. Comfortable clothes are also essential since you have to trek for 5 kms.

Since the town of Nirmal is a halt, on your way to the Gayatri waterfalls, you can avail the chance of enjoying a little shopping time here. Nirmal is famous for its unique paintings. These paintings are popular by the very name - Nirmal paintings. You can also purchase souvenirs or little art pieces for display, from the town of Nirmal. Figurines, toys and such other articles are made here and are a signature showpiece of this town.

2. Enjoy Swimming in the Pool

The water cascading from the Gayatri waterfalls collects at the bottom to form a pool. Visitors can swim in the pool area and relish the freshwater. You have to be careful while swimming or standing in the pool area, the rocks at the bottom, can be slippery at times. You can for sure enjoy taking a dip or two into the water, but avoid going in too deep, as submerged rocks are lying underneath.

3. Trekking

There is an on-foot trek of approximately 5 kms from Tarnam Khurd village to the waterfalls. You can get guides from the village or even seek help from the local people, to guide you to the waterfalls, to avoid losing track of the route. You have to trek through the forests to reach the base of the waterfalls. After parking your vehicles at Tarnam, you will start for an on-foot trek.

A brief walk will lead you to a small water stream. This is one of the creeks of the River Kadem. After crossing the stream and walking further for about half an hour, you will reach cotton and soya fields. Here onwards the dense forest starts, and you will also come across beautiful and lush green grassland on your way, before finally reaching the Gayatri falls.

You can capture nature at its best, at the magnificent location of Gayatri falls. This place has splendid top views to offer you. Also, the surroundings and the places that fall en route, especially the grasslands are pleasant. You can capture a beautiful sunset here.

How To Reach Gayatri Waterfalls

The Gayatri waterfalls lie at a distance of around 270 kms from Hyderabad. From Hyderabad, local buses travel to the district of Adilabad. Either you can directly head to Tarman Khurd from Adilabad, or you can go to Nirmal town and then go further to Traman. Cabs, taxi services and local buses are easily available for covering the expanse. You can go by vehicle only till Tarnam Khurd village. From here you have to take a 5 km trek on foot, to reach the waterfalls.
