Pochera Waterfalls, Adilabad Overview

It may surprise you to know that the bed of the Pochera waterfall is entirely made from the purest form of granite. This gives the waterfall a slight emerald tinge, making them all the more tantalizing. You can take a relaxing dip in these falls and splash around with friends and family, or you could sit by the waters staring at the majestic allure of the falls as the hypnotic murmur of the plummeting waters appeases every nerve in your body.

Things To Do at Pochera Waterfalls

Why just gape at the magnetic appeal of these alluring waterfalls when you can dive in them! The landscape of the Pochera Falls is wide and flat, which allows you to take a dip in the sedative waters of the Godavari river. Adilabad usually experiences warm and humid weather, so the enticing calm waters of these falls seem all the more inviting.

Being a hidden waterfall in the lap of nature, the Pochera Falls are the perfect destination to blow off some steam and rejuvenate yourself. The aura of the falls drips with tranquillity, and the atmosphere is extremely restful.

Best Time To Visit Pochera Waterfalls

The majestic Pochera Waterfalls is best to visit during monsoon or immediately post-monsoon between August and December. The seasonal showers make sure that the falls are brimming with water. The temperature is very amicable and hovers between 24 degrees Celsius and 32 degrees Celsius which keeps the waters at the ideal temperature for taking a dip.

Once the monsoon and retreating monsoon pass away, the flow of the waterfalls slowly starts decreasing. Between January and July, the flow is at its lowest and this makes it the least preferred time to visit the Pochera Falls. The temperature is quite hot, ranging from a low of 24 degrees Celsius to a high of a whopping 42 degrees Celsius.

Tips For Visiting Pochera Waterfalls

1. Even though you must be very excited to dive into the falls and escape from the scorching heat, tread very carefully into the waters. Pochera Falls is the deepest waterfall in the Telangana region.
2. The rocks around the falls have been accumulated with considerable algae and moss. This makes them extremely slippery, so be sure to secure an extra grip before stepping on any such rocks. Try wearing shoes with a rubber base that gives you an extra hold over your stance.
3. Do not wear flip-flops or slippers that don't secure themselves around your foot- the current and force of the water will take your slip-on away with the flow. If this does happen, do not run after the footwear- you may slip and fall injuring yourself, or you may find yourself in the deeper end of the waters.
4. The Narasimha Swamy Temple is very close to the Pochera Falls. Lord Vishnu is the presiding deity in this temple along with Goddess Lakshmi. A visit to the Narasimha Swamy Temple will add a spiritual touch to your action-packed picnic and make it a complete vacation.
