Kangaroo Island, Adelaide Overview
Australia's third-largest island, off the Fleurieu Peninsula, with sea lions on the sand at Seal Bay and the Remarkable Rocks at the far western end. Be realistic about the distance: an hour and a half to Cape Jervis, a 45-minute ferry, then up to two hours' driving to the main sights. South Australia's tourism board suggests two to three nights, and that is the honest advice.
The Kangaroo Island is yet another must visit. It is expansive and surprisingly diverse. You'll find soaring cliffs, dense bushland, towering sand dunes, wetlands and massive arcs of bone white beach.
