Beaches of Adelaide, Adelaide Overview
Adelaide's coast runs for about 30 km of mostly calm, shallow gulf water, which is why the beaches here suit swimming better than surfing. Glenelg and Henley Beach are the busy ones with a tram or a bus from town, Semaphore and Largs have the old jetties and quieter sand, and Maslin further south is Australia's first official nude beach.
Adelaide features a number of beaches. Some of the most-frequented swimming beaches include Brighton, Glenelg, Grange, Henley, Seacliff, Semaphore and West beaches.
