What Is The Procedure?
To be applicable for visa-free travel in Malaysia, Indian tourists need to register themselves on the Electronic Travel Registration and Information (eNTRI) System. The registration may be done either by the tourists themselves or through any travel agency registered with the Malaysian Mission Office in India.Once a person is registered via 'eNTRI System', tourists may travel to Malaysia within three months from the date of issue of visa, post which the visa will be applicable only for 15 days. The tourists must also have a direct travel air ticket to India or any other country. In case people wish to re-enter Malaysia, they may do so after 45 days from the date of leaving the country.
Reason Behind the New Amendment
Ministry of External Affairs considers visa–on–arrival option to be an improvement for Indian passport holders.
