The service in the bar, restaurant and among the bellstaff was amazing.
Upon arrival we were pitched heavily on upgrading our room from $1500 per night to a suite. The upsell was uncomfortable and not befitting of Langham's brand. You can imagine our surprise when we were shown to the tiniest internal room in the hotel that looked as if time forgot. The carpeting was filthy, and the white sitting chair was stained and almost grey. There was no closet space, and the bathroom looked as if it hadn't been updated in years. The desk staff put us into the room that I had assumed we booked, and the accommodations were 40% better. Here's the deal, you are a luxury brand with guests who expect luxury. At over $1500 per night I expect that I will not be put into a room that is used for guests who spend 500-750 on booking engines. This bait and switch and the hardsell from front desk staff is not on par with the Langham brand and sullied the experience. As a frequent, monthly guest of Four Seasons and Rosewood hotels during business and leisure trips I expect the Langham brand to treat all of their guests similar to their direct competition. Due to business plan changes, we had to stay the first two days earlier at another top-end hotel. After transferring to The Langham for the next 4 days, we could experience the real 5* in NYC: excellent and genuine service, room size and quality, and great breakfast at the executive lounge.

A brilliant property in the heart of Manhattan
The staff were extremely helpful and welcoming. Checking in was a breeze and I was especially pleased with the doormen whom went over and beyond to make our stay very pleasant. Loved the washer/dryer in our room, Miele brand which was very quiet even on the spin cycle. Our stay was only for a night (less than 12 hours) and we did not have any food at the property. The bed was really comfortable and the sheets were all extremely clean and crisp! Definitely a property worth a longer visit.
Well the property itself needs a bit of an upgrade. I feel at the moment it's important Langham stays ahead of the competition. The wood panels on the wall are quite nice but this needs to be complimented with better lighting. The room we stayed in felt a little dark. It would also be a good addition to have USB-C ports.

Staff were amazing the room was huge and very comfortable. The clubhouse was excellent. The bar upstairs was a bit strange didn't really open at normal times?
