Great hotel in the center of Perth with well designed rooms. One side of the corridor has a rubbish stench though.

Great location and well designed rooms. Nice shower area with good drainage design and placement.

On one side of the lift lobby, in the corridor, around room number 1 across several floors, theres a rubbish stench coming from the emergency exit staircase. I fed this back to the staff a couple of times, sometimes it got a little better but its pretty much there every time i passed by there during my 3 nights stay. Good thing the stench stayed in the corridor and didnt enter the room, but the walk to and from the room was very unpleasant.

Ok, but nothing to be amazed at

It was OK. Clean, comfortable, and good location. But, there is nothing exceptional or to be amazed by.

Just like all the other major upper hotel brands, a bit worn out. The big players in the industry are relying on their past image as luxurious facilities and service. In fact, with all the M&As and swapping of properties among the hospitality big names and them not owning the properties themselves (franchisees run the business), I would speculate that you can get better product/services by choosing local and less renowned hotels for less money spent. Unless you go for ultra luxurious hotels, you are just paying for the brand, not for the quality or actual luxurious stay.
