Azaya Beach Resort Goa

You stated a preference during booking for a quiet room. Was Azaya Beach Resort Goa able to fulfil your request? Well that is interesting as we had our SUITE with a pool right next to a suite that was being renovated. The first day i felt they are bound to stop by six but no it went well into the night. You wouldn't have been able to snooze - sawing, hammering, chipping, drilling - but we were at the beach so that was Ok. Next night they finished late by painting something - the fumes were horrendous - they seeped into our room and we had to have the quilts over our heads to try and filter the smell. We did decided to go and ask how long it would be going on for and were questioned "had we made them aware of the noise and fumes?" as they would have told them to stop. Really!!! I didn't realise that in a 5 star hotel (their self rating I think) you have to complain to get things addressed. Most places would have thought - oh hang on - we have customers in here lets renovate where hopefully it won't be too intrusive. We had 4 rooms booked - 2 were fine - livable - our suite was good in size and idea but needed a lot of work to bring it up to 5 STAR standard. Took photos but sadly forgot to take one of the gaping hole, in the eaves, outside near the pool - where a rat ran out. The drinks cupboard had a light that wouldn't go off - they tried to shut it down but didn't seem to work. Told to just shut the doors on the front. The fact the runners on the door were broken didn't help. Blocked hole in door to stop mosquitoes. One other room had a flood late at night - they were advised - they will fix it there and then - send someone - this was after someone had slipped and injured themselves. Faulty Towers - Goa Style. We decided to leave - had paid for 5 nights for all rooms - stayed 2 - they wouldn't refund.

I didnt like the service at all. Every morning waiting for the simple cup of tea for 20 min, no towels at the pool, payment problem - they never accept cash there, only asking to pay later at the check-out day that wasnt convenient for me at all. The shelf was broken in the room. One night and half a day they switched off the hot water completely. The water in the bath was always brown color. I asked for the vase for flowers also - nobody brought me. But the most awful was the service itself and the stuffs attitude. They dont know any personal borders! Last night they were calling me 4 times to the room. Then a guy opened my room with his own key at 23:00 and entered to give me a notice that tomorrow pool will not be working!!!!!! I never could enjoy being alone in my room, because always somebody was coming, knocking, calling. Very very annoying stuff!!!!! And I came to celebrate my birthday there, the hotel didnt even give me any compliment. Only after I asked myself they gave a piece of cake.

The rooms were moquito infested. They changed the room after the first night. However, there was very little improvement. was staying with my 1 year old baby and she had a lot of mosquito bites. We were barely able to sleep when we were there. This was meant to be a vacation but it was an extremely poor experience overall. Their restaurant barely had half the dishes on the menu. When I asked them to compensate for the stay they flatly told me that since I had booked from booking.com they cannot offer any compensation. After this experience, I do not think I will make any more bookings from booking.com

The property was very run down, poorly maintained, very noisy with "silly loud music" piped arounfd the complex, so loud you could hardly think. Let alone have a conversation. The pool was filthy, the pool area dangerous with uneven sharp floors. Mould on the cushions. Pool area uneven and dangerous. Pool surround broken. Tiles broken, waiting for an accident. The rooms were damp and damaged, with paint peeling off the walls, green algae on the windows, plaster peeling with damp, floors damaged and with holes, shower area with mould and cushions with mould. The soft furnishings has stains all over them, and the duvet had blood stains on it (YUK!!) Altogether of pitiful experience for a five star hotel. Should really be 3*or less. The staff started off quite rude and miserable until we mentioned to them how miserable they all looked. They then started smiling a bit more and wishing us good morning. Breakfast was a bit of a nightmare with a free for fall (fight), understaffed and poor quality breakfast, with guests coming to blows fighting to get to the buffet. Toaster did not work for all the four days we were there even though they said they would fix it. The masala DOSA had about 1/10 of the masala in it that it should've had, like they were trying to save money by using a few less potatoes! For the first day we weren't even offered a coffee, and had to help ourselves to instant coffee. On another day there was no hot water for making your own coffee, and hardly any service available over breakfast for over 45 minutes. Would never stay here again, and would advise anyone thinking about it to think again. The place is overpriced and miserable. When we complained we were upgraded to the top room, which had damp in the room, peeling paint, mould on the cushions and much more to mention... And that was the best they had to offer. SAD PLACE.
