Located in the Cenderawasih Bay in the Papua province, Biak is a small island with many corals, atolls and reefs. Most of Biak's population is concentrated in the Kota Biak and the rest of the island has small villages that are scarcely populated. The civilians here are Melanesians and they practice Christianity. The official language is Indonesian but the locals communicate in Biak, however Dutch and English are also spoken but not by many. The climate at Biak is that of a tropical rainforest climate and is constant throughout the year.
