This northern pacific state lush with wildlife and ecology features several scenic attractions along its charming coastline. The state of Oregon offers an experience like no other to tourists that frequent its stunning beaches and urban landscape. Oregon's largest city, Portland, is known for its welcoming and laid back culture- its people are a part of the experience in the state. Oregon's cities are full of sightseeing favourites including vast recreational areas and historic museums and galleries.

Oregon differs widely in its characteristics, with each of its cities offering something unique. The city of Astoria is a picture-perfect seaside city filled with character and history while the city of Bend sits among the states many national forests, volcanoes and water bodies. Newport is another city that borders the ocean; it is home to one of the most photographed lighthouses in the world and is instantly recognizable.

Of course, no mention of Oregon is complete without an acknowledgement of its capital city- Salem, home to the State Capitol Building and the Willamette Heritage Centre. The states coastline is bursting with many other areas to explore and national parks to discover. Oregon's unmistakable state symbol is Mount Hood and its surrounding areas. The iconic mountain is surrounded by several attractions that attract tourists from far and wide. Perhaps the most recognizable of the countless scenery the state features is Crater Lake National Park. This area is unmistakably unique, being the remnants of a volcano and rivals most of the other natural wonders in the country with its ideal geographical proximity and beauty.

As one would expect, several trails exist within Oregon's wilderness and many natural sanctuaries like the Oregon Coast Trail. Others splay off into one of Oregon's several national parks. Some famous ones include the Smith Rock State Park and the Hell's Canyon Recreational Area. The cherry on top of the cake that is Oregon's natural beauty is the local cave system and Oregon's sand dunes- each offering an experience to visitors like no other.
