Prater is a lush green natural park where one is always flanked by Mother Nature on all sides providing something from everyone.
Spread across a huge area of 3200 acres, Prate is a natureÍs creation located between the Danube and the Danube Canal. Once served as a royal hunting ground, today a vast wooded park takes you in an entire different world away from the hustle bustle of the city. It houses everything from thrilling rides at the amusement park to dining, singing and a place for kids to enjoy. Howevre, the key highlight of the park is the giant Ferris wheel. It is landmark of the city offering a breathtaking view of the city through its luxurious cabin, suitable for group of up to 12. Completed in year 1987, the wheel was also featured in the film The Third Man in 1949. The wheel is a remarkable sight especially after dark when it is all lit up ad acts a giant clock. Prater Ziehrer Monument, a huge statue of the composer CM Ziehrer created in 1960; the Prater Museum exhibiting the history of the park, a Planetarium; and the Liliputbahn miniature steam railroad are some of the other major attractions of the park. One of the most famous recreational park of Vienna, it serves as variety of topography from meadows and woodlands to an amusement park.
