1. Dalawella Beach Swing:
Check off an item on your bucket list by enjoying to your heart’s content by trying the famous beach swing. Immerse yourself in an out of body experience swinging and taking in the beauty of the fading red and orange hues of the sunset, with the sight of the sun hiding behind the vast ocean. Search for the Dream Cabana and try out the beach swing. It should not cost more than 200-500 SLR.

2. Watch the stilt fishermen fish:
When in Unawatuna you will also find some of the famous stilt fishermen fish. The stilts are made of a single pole which is positioned in the bottom of the sea with a crossbar on top, which is a precarious position in which the fishermen sit and fish. Nowadays the fishermen don’t fish, but it is more for a show for the tourists. So add this to one of the fun activities to do when in Sri Lanka.

3. Relax and swim at the beach:
The Dalawella beach is comparatively secluded and less crowded as compared to the Unawatuna beach where families head out for some quiet and relaxing time. You can also take a swim by the beach; however, the only place which is suitable for swimming is the Wijaya beach. There are also some local restaurants nearby for you to relax and grab a bite.

4. Sea turtles at Dalawella beach:
One of the best things to do in Sri Lanka is snorkelling with the sea turtles. While snorkelling and walking on the beach keep an eye out for the sea turtle eggs and their nesting spots. The locals also take special efforts to take care of the sea turtles and even nurse the injured sea turtle back to normalcy.

5. Go for adventure sports:
Dalawella beach is also a great place to feed the adrenaline lover in you. You can go snorkelling or scuba diving where you will experience the vibrant sea creatures and the amazing sea turtles.  If you are lucky, you may also spot some dolphins on your boat ride.

You can visit the Unawatuna Center to check out some charming restaurants and cafes with is studded with shops selling all kinds of clothes, jewellery, souvenirs and civic amenity that you might require on your trip to the beach or shop to your heart’s desire. You can pick up gifts for your loved ones or spoil yourself by purchasing goodies available at these cute stores.

Enjoy some fresh fruit while you visit the famous Galle market and indulge in a luxurious experience where the shopkeepers help you to try out all of the tropical and exotic fruits before you buy them. Try out a fruit called Mangosteen, which is a unique lychee type fruit and also the mouth-watering pineapples! The market is not just famous for the fresh fruit, but you can also stock up on some spices for your home.
