Taktsang Gompa, Tawang Overview
Taktsang Monastery, situated in the Tawang District of Arunachal Pradesh, India, is a significant Tibetan Buddhist sacred site perched on a cliffside. It is located 45 kilometers from Tawang township and is believed to have been consecrated by Guru Padmasambhava in the 8th century CE. Surrounded by dense forests and towering mountains, the monastery comprises three tiers, each dedicated to a Tibetan guru or deity. Accessible by a 5 km drive from Madhuri Lake, visitors can also explore nearby pilgrimage sites associated with Guru Padmasambhava's meditation.
