Mount Maunganui Hot Salt Water Pools , Tauranga Overview

The Mount Maunganui Hot Salt Water Pools is an extremely popular facility in Tauranga loved both by tourists and locals alike. The hot pools offer therapeutic dips into salty ocean water which is known to have healing properties, to rebalance and detoxify the body and to be extremely relaxing for the muscles. The temperatures of these pools can vary from 31ºC to 39ºC and are of two types, active pools, and passive pools, wherein the latter has massage jets along the walls of the pools.

The facility also offers various other services like massage, fitness activities, a well-equipped gym, etc. The seawater used in these pools is retrieved from the Pilot Bay Jetty and then goes through a passive and active filter while passing through heat exchangers, wherein the hot water is retrieved from a 600-meter deep underground bore. The facility also has separate spa pools and children’s pools to create a safer environment for them.
