Circular Quay is Sydney's main ferry and cruise terminal, wedged between the Opera House and Harbour Bridge, so most harbour views and boat trips start here. Street performers, harbourside restaurants and small shops keep the promenade busy through the day and into the evening. Because it connects directly to The Rocks, the Botanic Garden and both harbour icons on foot, it works well as a base for exploring rather than a single stop in itself.
