We had an amazing holiday in Sri Lanka. This was possible because we had Lelan o (Read More)ur tour agent. Throughout our trip he ensured that all our needs were met. Our driver/tour guide Erangee was the perfect person for our trip. He went beyond his duties to ensure that we saw and experienced his country to the fullest. Thank you.

Sigiriya Travel Essentials
Best Time to Visit The best time to visit Sigiriya is from January to April and August to September, when the weather is dry (26°C to 32°C) and skies are clear for climbing the rock fortress. May to July is the southwest monsoon, bringing humidity and short showers but fewer crowds. October to December sees intermittent rains yet remains good for sightseeing, as vegetation around the fortress turns lush.
Ideal Duration & Popular Itineraries Sigiriya holidays usually last 1 to 2 days, often included as part of a cultural triangle tour with Dambulla, Polonnaruwa, and Kandy. Popular formats include:
1 Day: Climb Sigiriya Rock Fortress and visit Dambulla Cave Temple.
2 Days: Adds a village safari, Pidurangala hike, and wildlife trip to Minneriya National Park.
Top Things to Do
Climb the Sigiriya Rock Fortress, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its frescoes and ancient engineering
Visit Pidurangala Rock for a panoramic view of Sigiriya and sunrise photography
Explore Dambulla Cave Temple, featuring Buddha statues and wall paintings
Go on a village safari with a bullock cart ride, lake canoeing, and local lunch
Take a jeep safari in Minneriya or Kaudulla National Park to see herds of wild elephants
Visit the Sigiriya Museum to learn about the site’s history and architecture
