The best time to visit Maredumilli is right after the monsoon season is over and beyond that. The region becomes fresh and alive after the monsoon with the Godavari River exuding life into the river valley. The winters are also a great time to visit. One might need extra protection during the night as nights are much cooler than days.

Travelling within the area can be done mostly on foot.

The Maredumilli eco-tourism has a good Jungle Star Camping facility which can be used by travelers for overnight stay amidst the forest of the Eastern Ghats. There is also a rest house of the forest department available at the Maredumilli village for staying.

Nandanavanam, a wonderful ethno medical awareness center which educates about the medicinal abilities of plants and the Coffee and Tea Plantation of the APFDC which are beautiful watch are the attractions you must not miss while here.

Trekking and Camping are popular in the area.

Maredumilli is largely a tribal area being here will allow you to experience the efforts and hard work the tribals have put in to develop this eco-tourism zone in the Eastern Ghats.

  • Air: The nearest airport is at Rajahmundry which is 85 km from Maredumilli. One can easily hire a cab for a whole day or catch a bus towards Bhadrachalam and get down at Maredumilli.

  • Rail: The nearest rail head is at Rajahmundry from where you can easily hire a taxi or catch a bus for Maredumilli.

  • Road: Maredumilli lies on the Bhadrachalam Road which connects it to various parts of the state. It well connected by state and private buses.
