El Yunque, Puerto Rico Overview

El Yunque National Rainforest consists of cloud and rain forests, offering breathtaking views. Most of the camping sites in this rainforest are reachable via hiking. Some sites have cooking areas, but you must bring your supplies for refreshments. Moreover, you must remember to get the camping permit beforehand for an uninterrupted camping experience. The rainforest is full of amazing hiking trails, scenic views, gushing waterfalls, rare flowers and trees, and many fascinating activities.

At El Yunque, there's always something more to do. This massive rainforest sprawling across an area of 28,000 acres has a brilliant collection of attractions and activities. The famous Dwarf Forest is located along the peaks of the rainforest's mountains and due to the harsh conditions, the growth of trees in the area is actually stunted, hence the name. You'll notice these unique features as you hike up through the forest. You can see many rock carvings in Rio Blanco and all over the hills in the forest, or go for snorkelling and surfing on the beaches. Take a dip in the cold water of the forest's pools and rivers, like the Charco Frio and the Juan Diego Falls, for the ultimate refreshment! Be careful about changing currents and weather to avoid any injuries. For the best experience of exploring and enjoying the forest, it's best to stay in the breathtaking resorts and lodgings that are found in the forest. It's quite the feeling to wake up to the tranquil beauty of the lush rainforest!
