The Archaeological Museum of Paros displays several periodic excavations from Paros and Antiparos right from the Neolithic period to early Christianity. Some historical sculptures in the museum include the Cycladic figurines, mosaics from the Panatia Ekatontapiliani, Nike of Paros, Gorgon's statue, various Greek deities and kouroi. The highlight is Gorgon's marble statue, which belonged to the 6th century BC and was used as an ornament of a temple.
You can also explore the marble statue of Artemis, a statue of an ancient Greek goddess, an ancient ionic capital, a statue of a woman sitting with crossed legs dating back to the Neolithic era, and a statue of a kore with chiton. One of the best things about this museum is the huge amphorae from a Parian workshop that are the results of the pottery and marble workshops from the island from the Greek and Roman era. The museum was founded in 1960 in just a room adjacent to the high school of Parikia. The two marble relief plates from the Memorial of Archilocus is another display that you cannot miss!.
