Hon Tam Island sits about 7 km southeast of Nha Trang city, reached by speedboat or canoe in roughly 7 to 25 minutes. The island centers on a mineral mud bath complex with hydrotherapy pools, a water park, and beach clubs along its sandy shoreline, plus water sports like jet skiing, parasailing, flyboarding, and snorkeling. Hon Tam Resort runs bungalows and villas for overnight stays, and a recreated old village, Hoang Hoa Thon, adds a cultural stop. It is a separate island from Nha Trang's better-known Hon Mun and Hon Mieu.
Hon Tam (Hòn Tạm) is one of several resort islands in Nha Trang Bay, operated mainly around Hon Tam Resort. Boats leave from the Nha Trang mainland area for the short crossing. On the island, a mud bath zone offers mineral-mud soaking pools and hydrotherapy jets, a water park has slides and pools, and beach clubs line the sand for swimming and lounging. Water sports on offer include jet skiing, parasailing, flyboarding, and snorkeling. There are seafood restaurants, overnight bungalows and villas, and a small heritage village recreation, Hoang Hoa Thon. Hon Tam is distinct from Hon Mun, known for coral and marine life, and Hon Mieu, home to the Tri Nguyen aquarium.
