Baltic Centre for Contemporary Art is six floored spaces dedicated to contemporary art from around the globe. Besides being a stunning place inside out, the centre has a library, a sensory room, and a rooftop restaurant. The centre has some spaces that are available for hire for events

The riverside building with over 2500 square metres of exhibition space looks out across the Baltic Square and the Gateshead Millenium Bridge. An in-house rooftop restaurant offers scrumptious delicacies with a killer view. Ever since it opened in 2002, the Baltic Centre for contemporary art has presided over 226 exhibitions of work by over 450 artists of 60+ different nationalities being viewed by more than 8 million visitors to date. Some halls here are available for hire for organizing public and corporate gatherings, etc. and organizing numerous workshops and classes for adults, families, school and college students, etc.

The centre has a library with a specialist collection of contemporary art, a Baltic archive which portrays its history through physical items and digital documentation, a sensory room with toys, projections and lights and a soothing view of the Newcastle quayside and the amazing Baltic crew who make sure you get the most out of your visit.

Must Know Before You Visit Baltic Centre for Contemporary Art

Other Important Objective Information : 1. All the floors have toilets except the 5th floor, which provides an amazing aerial view of the 4th-floor gallery, the majestic quayside view, and its bridges. 
2. You can find the front room, baby change rooms, and lockers on the ground floor itself. 
3. The refreshments in the front room are free of cost. The centre has bike racks which can be accessed for free, so a cycle trip is not only the most economical, but sustainable as well. 
4. Do pay a visit to the Baltic shop on the lower ground floor that houses numerous magazines, cards, home-wares and books. 
5. If you are travelling via car through the clean air zones, please remember that non-compliant cars will be penalised.
