Sedir Island, Marmaris Overview
Known as Cleopatra Island, Sedir Island is a popular attraction in Turkey, situated towards the north of Marmaris. It is known for its beach which has silky golden sand and clear blue waters. There are boat tours organised from Marmaris to Sedir Island which include lunch as well.
Legends say that the island was once known as the secret meeting place of Queen Cleopatra and Mark Anthony. The island was then gifted to the Queen by Mark Anthony as a wedding gift, but since she did not like the sand, the sand was brought over from Egypt.
