Manori Beach, Manori Overview

Manori is a small fishing village which lies in the northern part of Mumbai, famous for its beach and Manori creek. Also known as 'Mini-Goa', Manori is known for the beach-side shacks that serve authentic seafood. There is a ferry ride which goes to Malad Marve to and fro in 5 minutes.

Visited by the convoy of weekenders from Mumbai, Manori beach is usually crowded. Manori is home to two resorts designed as Spanish Villas and several other hotels and accommodation facilities. Manori is also famous among cyclists, due to its beautiful surroundings and minimal traffic.

The beach is covered with cashew nut trees and greenery, and rocky hillocks at the beach are the ideal location to enjoy a beautiful sunset. Manori Beach also has a few other attractions nearby, namely Essel World and Gorai Beach.

Attractions Near Manori Beach

Manori is one of the few clean beaches at North Suburb Island of Mumbai. It lies adjacent to the Gorai Beach and Uttan Beach (that lies a little towards Bhayandar). There are a few attractions nearby like Shiva Temple, the Global Vipassana Pagoda (which is the world's largest structure containing the bone relics of Buddha) and the two ashrams of the spiritual masters of Nath Sampradaya- Swami Gagangiri Maharaj and his disciple Swami Gagan Anand Maharaj.

Though Manori beach is a famous spot and is visited by tourists throughout the year, the best time to visit it is during the months of October to March because the climate is less humid during this time of the year in Mumbai.

Tips For Visiting Manori Beach

1. There is no ATM nearby, so make sure to carry some cash along with you. Even if you can spot an ATM nearby, it is usually out of money.
2. There is ample space for parking near Manori Beach.
3. This beach does not offer any adventure rides so head on to the other beaches in Mumbai if you are looking for such adventure activities.

How To Reach Manori Beach

The Manori beach is situated 19 km away from Chhatrapati Shivaji Airport. One can hire a cab or an auto from there easily. Buses too are available. Another way to reach could be via railway station, the nearest one being Borivali which is 7 km away from the beach.

Although, the best way to reach here is by your vehicle as public transport is a bit sparse here. It is well connected by road via Bhayander and Dahisar Check Naka. The sea route, however, is relatively shorter. Manori Beach is just 15-minute ferry ride away from the Marve Beach in Malad.
