Manori Beach, Manori Overview

Manori is a small village which lies in the northern part of Mumbai. The village is famous for its beach as well as Manori creek. Away from the hustle bustle of the city, the place is entirely peaceful and perfect to vent out your stress and go into the relaxation mode. This beach is very famous amongst the tourists. The local people of this village earn their bread and butter by fishing. The beach has white sand and is the perfect picnic spot to while away time. This place is also known as 'Mini-Goa', for the kind of culture and atmosphere one gets to experience here is similar to that of Goa. The Manori beach is quiet and peaceful and is not very crowded. It is covered with cashew nut trees and greenery all around that further add to the beauty of the place.

The beach is widely liked for its unique white sand, shells, and the calmness one gets just by being there. Also, there is a ferry ride which is offered at the beach which goes to Malad Marve to and fro in 5 minutes. The view of Manori Beach at night will compel you to visit it often. The starry sky, cool ocean breeze and the rocky hillocks placed at a few yards away provide a charm and serenity to the place. Some sea-side restaurants serve scrumptious and authentic seafood as well. This delicious meal can be well followed by a nap in the hammocks nearby. The rocky hillocks placed at the beach are the ideal location to enjoy a breathtaking sunset.

The Manori beach is especially liked due to the presence of a sparse crowd and a comparative cleaner shore. It is far from the touch of commercialisation and hence, is perfect to enjoy a brisk walk. The majority of visitors can be seen here during weekend evenings. This peaceful and enchanting weekend getaway is located far from the hustle and bustle of city lives. It is a calm and secluded place, with a very less footfall and only a couple of vendors present. The major luring point here is the wide variety of resorts and hotels located nearby they are perfect for a short stay, amidst the beauty of nature. Manori Beach also has a few other attractions nearby, namely Essel World and Gorai Beach.

Being a very popular weekend destination near Mumbai, Manori is home to some beach-side shacks along with two resorts designed as Spanish Villas. Manori also has a number of other hotels and accommodation facilities. These village beaches and resorts are usually crowded, as many picnickers visit on a daily basis. One can spot a number of city dwellers relaxing and chilling at Manori Beach. Manori is also famous among the cyclists, due to the pleasant climatic conditions, beautiful surroundings and minimal traffic.

Some of the most popular dishes include pork vindaloo and sorpotel, chicken raan, stuffed pomfret, dry Bombay duck chutney, rotis, prawns chilly fry and fried Bombay duck.

Manori is one of the few clean beaches at North Suburb Island of Mumbai. It lies adjacent to the Gorai Beach and Uttan Beach (that lies a little towards Bhayandar). There are a few attractions nearby, especially carrying a lot of religious as well as spiritual value. These places are namely the Shiva Temple, the Global Vipassana Pagoda (which is the world's largest structure containing the bone relics of Buddha) and the two ashrams of the spiritual masters of Nath Sampradaya- Swami Gagangiri Maharaj and his disciple Swami Gagan Anand Maharaj.

Though Manori beach is a famous spot and is visited by tourists throughout the year, the best time to visit it is during the months of October to March because the climate is less humid during this time of the year in Mumbai.
