El Chorro gorge is the perfect place for adventure seekers and for people who would love to take a chance at rock climbing. A 50 minute drive North West from the city, El Chorro gorge features the King's Walkway which is a beautiful path suspended above the gorge.

A small village near Alora in southern Spain, El Chorro is one of the most popular places for rock climbing in Spain as it is situated just next to the Desfiladero de los Gaitanes or the Gorge of the Gaitanes. It is filled with hikers, campers and mountain bikers throughout the year. Hanging over a height of 100m from the base of the gorge, Caminito del Rey or the King's Pathway is a famous place among the tourists for its scary experience. The official access was banned in 2000 taking care of the safety of the climbers. but the rock climbers in the gorge were given access by a ferrata that lead to the remaining part of the walkway. The gorge runs from Embalse del Gaitanejo to El Chorro with two narrow sections at both ends and a wide middle area. It has also been a popular spot for movie shootings.
