Gaimukh, Kolad Overview
Literally translated as 'the mouth of the cow', Gaimukh is a small village located in Thane West and is also a famous pilgrim centre. It houses a temple dedicated to Lord Shiva which comes in the limelight every Mahashivratri - the festival of Shiva.
During the festival, a 15 days Gaimukh Mela is organized in the village. Along with this temple, there is also a cave temple ( a unique experience in itself) dedicated to Kuramvars. There are a couple of other temples in and around this village as well.
