History of Old Dutch Market

The Old Dutch Market is in a 300-year-old colonial-style building, but the origins of its date of opening are quite blurry; it is believed to have opened 300 years ago or in the late 19th century. The marketplace suffered damage during the Indian Ocean tsunami in 2004. Consequently, the place was restored by BASF, a famous German chemical company.
