The Tomb of Amyntas, Fethiye Overview
Famously known as the Fethiye Tomb, the Tomb of Amyntas is an ancient Greek tomb. Its special feature is that it is a rock-hewn tomb built for a former satrap (the first of the Harpagid Dynasty) of Lycia.
It has been designed in Ionian style and in the middle of the left column, ‘Amyntou tou Ermagiou’ has been written in the 4th century which translates to ‘Amyntas, son of Hermagios’. The tomb is situated on the top of a mountain and to arrive at it, there is a long staircase that leads to the top.
