Vermeer Centrum, Delft Overview

Located at the city center, Vermeer Centrum is a museum dedicated to the life and works of Johannes Vermeer, one of the best-known painters of the Dutch Golden Age. The center also has a gift shop and a restaurant where you can sit for a delicious breakfast round.

Though the centre doesn't display any of the original works of Johannes Vermeer (since they have found places in one of the biggest museums all over the world), it displays a collection of 36 life size replicas of Vermeer's most mesmerising works. The centre has in depth stories behind each of his paintings and his life. The exhibitions also include a vibrant showcase of 17th century Delft, the extremely artistic atmosphere of the city which saw great contributions made to the Dutch Golden Age. The studio is a fascinating place, revealing how Vermeer used the colours and lighting to make his artworks so marvellous.
