Also known as the Than Tho Lake, the 'Lake of Sighs' lies 6km from the town of Da Lat. Initially a pond, it was dammed by the French in the year 1917 to provide water to the Central Highlands.
The lake is believed to be named after the tale of two lovers, one of whom committed suicide here because the other was called to serve in the army. Located in the Northeast of town, along Xuan Huong Lake, this beautiful lake reminisces the story of two lovers. Today, it is a popular destination for couples and fishing enthusiasts who can be seen on the shore. You can also indulge in boat rides along the lake in quaint swan-shaped boats.
